Powell County
Powell County Search & Rescue is a group of volunteers, dedicated to all aspects of Search & Rescue. We are also members of NASAR.  Training and the proper skills to function in a search are our top priorities. We live by the saying  “Any search is an emergency.” Members are ready to respond 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Public education is always on our agenda: hug a tree classes for public school children throughout the county, adult education classes, navigation with map and compass, as well as other programs. We are a nonprofit organization that is funded through Powell County, and we also receive donations from local establishments throughout the year.  We are always looking for new members to join our group. We have one business meeting per month and one training meeting per month. If you are interested in joining our organization, please fill out an application and e-mail it to me; or print it, fill it out, and return to the above address.
